Sometimes called a Spanish jumping bit is a member of the Pelham family. It is suitable for horses which are more sensitive to tongue pressure. The rein slots allow variations for no leverage at all to a little leverage. Useful for stronger ponies where the rider just needs a little leverage on a pony that will respond well to a no pinch mouthpiece. Has the advantage of taking some pressure out of the mouth and onto a chain or strap at the back of the jaw. Again as with any bits that employ a chain you need to set the chain correctly to take advantage of the pressure. More Info
